“Social Media” nowadays helps in terms of communicating,learning, working and etc. Despite the positive effects of social media there are also a negative effects that social media causes. Such as cyber bullying and many more.
Social media has helped a lot during calamities in terms of giving informations.
Officials use social media during a disaster to alert the public where help is located and when they plan on reaching impacted areas. Any photos or videos uploaded to social media networks aid in documenting the damage of the affected areas and identifying survivors.
But before social media exist there are some media that helped us in getting informations such as television,radio and print.
For many decades,radio and tv are one of the primary source of getting informations.Specially during disasters such as floods, storms and etc.
Social media reaches maximum audience while, the traditional media’s audience is generally more targeted.
WE should always remember:
Use social media wisely.
Think before you click.
And use it responsibly.
